Sunscreen
Exposure to the UV radiation, primarily the UVB rays, can cause
sunburns and may eventually result in the skin cancer. The sunscreen helps in
reducing the sunburn, but these are not very effective against other harmful effects
of the UV rays, such as the premature aging of the skin, and depression of the
immune system. All sunscreens essentially have a sun protection factor (SPF) on
their labels. The SPF indicates that how much longer you can be exposed to the
sun specially the UVB rays, before getting the sunburn. There are many different
brands of sunscreen available, classified according to the active ingredients
contained by those. Some sun screen products contain chemical filters, some contain
physical filters, and some contain both.
